Computers and the internet are great and their power to share information has shaped our world to what it is today. Will the computer and internet show themselves to be helpful or destructive in the end? The power of information can go many ways in the hands of human beings. There are a million reasons why the internet should be a power to be reckoned with.
The only thing that is going to help your mind in a free information age is to have a truly open one. Don’t close yourself off, but allow yourself distance from potential mental addictions. For example, social sites provide a great way to spend time with loved ones, but can easily turn into what the banners across the sites depict, social entertainment. This is not wrong in any way, but this kind of entertainment can lead you from being productive with your time.
Computers have brought the world into your house unfiltered and raw. You must teach your mind how to filter what is going to help you in your life and your pursuits of fulfillment. You can use the internet to do many things. You can hack; you can learn to treat depression and even download the anarchist cookbook and start some havoc or have fun with it. With all the tools that you have at your fingertips you can truly do almost anything you put your mind to.
Considering all that is out there on the internet and the fact that we haven’t been brought to the brink of riots and disorder should reinforce the fact that the internet is good. That’s what most people are using it for to communicate to one another and conduct business. Not to destroy or tear down anything, but to bring the ones that they love closer and to find an easier way of living.
