Everyone at some time may experience a computer crash. While this is a difficult situation to deal with, there are things you can do to make the transition to a new computer easier.
First of all, try to retrieve your information. If you have a back up service then you may at least be able to get your documents, photos and music back. If you have an external hard drive where you keep information then you can get some of your lost items back from there but keep in mind that any programs you have may still be lost because they are installed on the C drive, not in the external hard drive area.
Contacts are another item that can be hard to retrieve. It is a good idea to have a copy of these contacts on a piece of paper or even saved in a word.doc in your external hard drive if you have one.
While losing your computer can be devastating, think of it as starting over. If you have to buy a new computer you may lose a few things but most you should be able to retrieve and not suffer too much hardship. Once you have your new computer you are now rid of all of the junk that clutters a computer over time. Just always take note of what software programs you have and where to find them and get the disc if possible so you can reinstall if necessary. Remember that a computer crash isn’t the end of the world.
